Gaurdian SketchDump

I'm sorry for the spam of these guys but they just make me really happy to draw for some reason. Just let me know if you want me to move them to my scrap book or something so they aren't spamming your notifications. I hope you like my little people to show off the size difference!

Sketch Dump:

• The first sketch depitcs the summoning of a Wood Guardians who are the most common because more recently they have been summoned in Forests (think Europe during the dark ages). Wood is chosen over dirt because dirt easily crumbles. Also when summoned a Guardian will apear kneeling with their head bowed to await instruction unless they are summoned in combat. They will then jump forth ready to battle. 
• Here we have a sleepy noodle otherwise a sorrowful stone Guardian. Sadly this one failed her mission of protection and has not been placed into dormancy. For a time she wandered the land until she just didn't have the energy anymore. Finally she decided to curl up and hide somewhere, trying to force herself into dormancy so someone could come and summon her so she may redeem herself one day. 
• Random culture thing: Guardians have mixed opinions about failure. Some will offer another Guardian an opportunity to redeem themselves while others will physically strip the failure of their armor and will even try to kill them by crushing their summoning stone.
• As a humanoid, Guardians can either have a mouth full of razor shard teeth or just the canines. 
• Size chart!! I decided to depict not only different heights of Guardians but also different body shapes. They are still not limited to these but the tallest known Guardian is 24ft and the shortest is 12ft. 
• If a Guardian is more masculine in appearance they tend to be smaller in size and "muscle" mass. Also the thinner the Guardian typically the faster they are. This translates into their animal forms so the thinner the Guardian the more likely they are something like a cheetah or deer. 
• There are five different eye types:
• Normal - any color but will usually match what their composition is. 
• Animal - A shared characteristic from animal to humanoid forms. This example would be some kind of feline in their animal form. Also applies to goats and other creatures. 
• Reverse - The whites of the eyes are black and irises/pupils are white
• Scleras - The whole eye is black, slighty worse vision then the others. 
• Corrupt - This is what happens with a Guardian is corrupted. They are almost completely blind.
• Wood Guardian in the form of a wolf with spiral horns. I actually really like how the wooden ones look.
• While exploring the different matterials a Guardian can be made of I created this lovely four-eyed marble one. Man made materials being used for Guardians is pretty rare because it will completely destroy the surrounding structures when first summoned. However, this one was summoned in a panic when a Greecian city went under seige so the people were more easy to forgive her summoner. After saving them, the people put on a celebration for the Guardian which by the way makes them extremely uncomfortable. Its kinda like winning a participation trouphy; they don't feel like they deserve anything for simple doing what they feel they must. However, if such celebrations become a regular occurance and Guardian can become prideful, selfcentered, and worse.
• I personally really really liked the Guardian I drew from the last sketch dump whole was from Egypt. First sketch is her interacting with one the citizens who happens to be another one of my characters who I haven't quite introduced (Shan knows her). Then another I kinda dabbled with hairstlyes since some Egyptians would shave their heads and wear wigs.
• Guardians did originate in Egypt and the knowledge of the magic spread out from there. They had hundred of Guardians to protect the land and specifically the Pharoah. However, when the persians learned about this magic they then used it against them. There are very few Egyptian Guardians still existing today. They either died in combat or were placed into dormancy to be called upon at a later time to take back Egypt. Any survivors have either been yet to be discovered or are on display in museums.
• Something that is seen here is that Guardians can remove their armor. However, it is still apart of them so they more bring into their being then take it off. It comes back when they are in combat. This also means they can wear other clothes....thats alot of fabric.
• This last image shows how a Guardian is corrupted. A Guardian can only be corrupted through their initial creation. If one tries to become corrupted, willing or not, the gods will destroy it before it can happen. The gods cannot save one from being corrupted as it is challenge of a strongwill.
• Guardians are made blind by their corruptors on purpose because their were many early cases where they would turn against their corruptors once they saw that damage their were causing the innocent.
